Make sure the donor ECU is exactly the same as the original then tow the car to the nearest dealer and have them match the ECU. The usual immo-off solutions do not work for immo 5. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer#Immobilizer_Generation_5

Well, I tried with ODIS to adapt a known good used ECU, and it failed... As for IMMO 5, you might want to check your notes.. BCM2 on a 2008 audi is more like immo 3.5, immo 5 is MQB..
Thanks for replying though.. If you ever need a chart on which immo is which, go to Abrites.com and look at the VAG manual..

Unless I misread the triplicate VIN in eeprom, it's a 2010 Immo 5. I have a recent thread here about a similar problem. It was eventually solved by a dealer, after trying myriad immo off solutions, ODIS and chatting with the folks at Ross-Tech, after VCDS wouldn't attempt to touch it.

As much as I love The Benevolent Dictator, they don't do much with IMMO's.. Read thru this manual and look at the chart showing which cars use which procedure https://abrites.com/preview/pdf/abrites-diagnostics-for-vag-user-manual
I have never had a problem learning the MED17.1 or the ME9.1, just seem to be having issues with this 9.1.1.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMWTbmXQ0XQ&t=1s

take a look at carlabimmo, they have some good info on immo's... https://carlabimmo.com/manuals/immobilizers/audi/manual.pdf

take care,
Tim

To work with this type of ECU you need 3 areas: external flash, internal flash and eeprom.
Full decryption and encryption immo data is possible, as well import immo data from BCM.
Also of course immo emulator for WFS5/MQB ECUs and TCU exist on market from 2017 .... and of course is avaliable to this type ECU.

soooo, where do I get that emulator???? It looks like power, ground, can hi, can lo, and viola.... When I read the ECU with galletto, it show eprom, flash and micro.. doesn't show an external flash.. am I reading it wrong??
Thanks in advance..
Holy crap, I went to your website.... I am bowing towards your location..... can you sell to us over on this side of the pond???

Figured I would update this thread... The immo off that AVDI does, doesn't work on the MED9.1.1, Just as AVITAL stated above... Trying to get one of his emulators though, is another story... The Audi parts catalog shows this car with a CAUB engine code ECU, but the car had a CAUA ecu.. Tried adapting a CAUB ecu with ODIS, and it states when you go into SVM, software version management, that the ECU is not the correct ecu for that car... Adapted a used CAUA ecu with ODIS and everything looks well, car cranks, but won't fire.. Told the shop that the only option is a new ECU.. and it might be an idea to have it done at a dealer... then it's there headache....
