I have a A3 8P dash with reference 8P0920982C, diesel with miles/hour in the odometer.

I have read flash and eeprom with no problems with SMOK UHDS.

I tried to convert this dash into a 8P0920932C, the same dash but KM/h.

I was able to get it modifying the EEPROM (after comparing 20 different dashes), but the odometer says "DEF".

I have the Flash and the EEPROM of an original 8P0920932C, so I was thinking what happens if I copy Flash and EEPROM in the 8P0920982C dash ...

I tried to reflash 8P0920982C with VCP, but VCP says file format is not ok.

Is there a way to convert the flash of 8P0920932C (.bin file format) in a sgo?? frf??? .... so I will be able to flash the 8P0920982C unit with VCP or Odis??

If not, is it possible to write 932C flash on 982C flash?? What tool can I use (SMOK does not write flash, only read).

Please keep your original flash (982C) and use this eeprom with it.
Test and report please!

Follow for see the result... how is possible to encrypt mileage and immo with different key from flash? or you make mods in eeprom? i am also interested in transform miles to km, so with coleague kantusjack we found that offsets for speedo scale is 2C0 - 2EF but with manually edit needle work properly but result is checksum error (def)
if coleague not answer i will write these files to my dash.

There are 2 ways to achieve what you want (miles to kmh):
1. Try and find the responsible settings (bits/bytes) in eeprom, and set them correct in your orig eeprom
or
2. Use a complete KMH eeprom and just copy the crypted area from orig eeprom to target.

Depending on what you want to copy exactly, but for VDO NEC clusters I always use and prefer option 2 because you will end up with an original eeprom so most settings should be correct.
However if properly isolated and tested there is no problem in using option 1 as well obviously. I use this as well.

However I have never done this for Micronas clusters.
I believe I copied the complete cryptes area (800h-A2Fh out of my head) so lets hear the result.

The EEPROM works ..... PERFECT

VCDS recognices the dash as 932C ...

Even I tried the option 2 you said ..... I copy the full 932C eeprom on the dash and change the Inmo Data with SMOK ... and this option doesn't work .... Only yours works.

I have check the Inmodata with smok and it is exactly the same than I have previously ....

UNBELIEVABLE JOB

i know its an old thread , but there is 8bit checksum @5FF for the whole section.
So it goes like this

982C MPH - C0 00 F7 07 C8 2F 43 3F 15 62 68 74 BC 7B 66 7F 00 00 0B 08 47 30 60 40 95 64 B3 78 BF 80 C5 84 12 00 33 01 D7 06 19 09 2D 0E FF 10 05 12 88 12 --- 44 ------- WHOLE BLOCK HAS(0x5FF) = 77
932C KMH - C0 00 E9 04 97 27 80 31 80 61 E6 73 1A 7D B3 81 00 00 00 05 00 28 00 32 00 64 00 78 00 82 00 87 12 00 14 01 20 08 19 09 BD 0E FF 10 05 12 88 12 --- 9F ------- WHOLE BLOCK HAS(0x5FF) = D2

982C MPH Checksum of 2C0 - 2EF = 44
982C MPH Checksum block at 0x5FF = 77

932C KMH Checksum of 2C0 - 2EF = 9F
932C KMH Checksum block at 0x5FF = D2

9F - 44 = 5B difference (since youre adjusting the MPH to KMH scale)
5B + 77 = D2

Same principle can be applied to edit scales for 0-260 -> 0-280 or 0-300 (s3)

Hello, thanks for the shared information! Works perfectly ! ML to KM faceplate replacement... everything fits perfectly.

FYI:

I did Original S3 8P0920932E to donor UK Diesel 8P0920982J.
Copied the crypted parts, but still had Defective fault code in DTC.

I also kept area of 0x720 - 0x750 on UK cluster and no more fault code.
