can anyone help me please.
My starview 2 has develoed a problem (keeps turning itself off for days then comes back on again - plug checked).
But the guys who sold it won't repair it has it has software on it (this is a condition in the warrenty)
If i was to factory reset it (when it comes back on) will it wipe off the software with no trace on ?
If not is there another way to do it please ?

Wont wipe the firmware, but it will wipe your channels and turn off the key emu. After factory reset, press menu, type 1570 on remote and turn key emu back on. Then do an autoscan on your provider.

A reflash may help, what firmware revision are you using. Press menu and system info and post what it says please.

4.54 can cause what you have described on some boxes. Try reverting back to 4.51. You use the earlier Gtrom loader V4.00.

After reverting, do as said regards factory reset, etc.

Apologies I have added 4.50 here Digital Kaos - Downloads - The Box (SV2) Firmware V4.51 (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/downloads/starview/23/box-sv2-firmware-v4-51-368/) try that first. You will find all you need in the zip file.

Don't mind the download title (4.51), it was a typo which I have asked Admin to correct when they get a chance.

You dont need the logo file. Yes there are others 4.51, 4.52, 4.53. Start off with 4.50 as they have earlier tuner drivers. Try it out as said and see how you get on.
