Hi All,

I have a strange problem with a Ford Focus MK2 cluster (4m5t-10849-fs). The fuel gauge is incorrectly showing less than quarter when the tank is full (both gauge and LCD reading). But this only happens 24+ hours after being connected to the car. If I disconnect the battery for 48 hours and reconnect the cluster works again (for 24hours).

The cluster has been rebuild (LCD in the past) and pins on the connect block have been re-soldered. I've disconnected/bypass the fuel sender with 20 Ohm resister and the same happens so it's not the fuel sender but some problem with the cluster.

Does anybody have the schematic for this cluster? Or anybody know a fix for this.

Thanks

Where is problem swap cluster + clone MCU?
Donor for MK2 is cost about 20 euro.

It's the petrol model so the clusters seem to be more than £70.

I'm not sure which tools can clone the MCU on this model (Carprog or X-prog)?

Do you know which can clone the cluster?

most 9s12 programmers can support that dash, 1k78x or 1m80f mask in instrument cluster depending on model.... pre FL has 1k78x, FL has 1m80f mcu.
And it doesn't matter if donor comes from petrol or diesel, if full clone (flash and eep) cluster will work normal in a petrol car, just have to swap data and tachometer print
