ECU Doc

Hello digital world!

My name is ECU Doc, but I already introduced myself. I hope you've read it.
Also I hope this threat is allowed to be posted.

I am fairly new if it comes down to reading and adjusting value's in the ECU.
I'm sure some of you already know the basics, and some of you are advanced in it.
To those who know the basics or more, I want to ask you;
How and where did you learn everything you know?
Is youtube a good place? Is this forum a good place to help understand the basics of modifying ecu value's, reading errors and solving them?

And what software do you use?
Kess, WinOLS? I heard many different programs but before I dig deeper into them can someone briefly explain what they are used for spefically?
I hope to get some help.

Kind regards,
ECU Doc

I think the best way to learn is by getting yourself a cheap bosch ecu (EG EDC16c34) from scrap yard so if you brake it not much money spent. Then you would need a tool to read this ECU. If you just leaning and don't want to send the money, just buy yourself an EU clone Ktag to play with. If you want to go more into it the I would stay away from Clone tools and spend the money as you only going to be as good as the tool you are using. Also get yourself Hex compare software to see how the file looks and where its been changed when edited.
