Help!!

Can anyone help with an Ecu headache on my vw touran 2013

Car was in limp mode with no error codes . Windscreen wipers not working and no fuses blown.

Suspected ecu, bought another off ebay and sent the both off to acloning service (off ebay aswel).

Message from tuning guy saying that software is corrupt in my ecu. And ubable to clone. The one i bought is ok. Hes sending them back.

Is there a way round this without getting main stealers involved.

Its an edc17c46. Thanks in advance and much love ❤️

If you can post both files we can help you, without files is nearly impossible.

He's saying original file is corrupt , Ive ordered a Ktag as its one of the few interfaces to read/write, already have probes as at work (I'm a time served instrument/electronic technician), but work in pharmaceuticals so no stranger to surface mount PCB.s

which is the best software/method to decompile ecu file to find pin for immobiliser?

'File is corrupted' it's too generic, if Flash is corrupted it can be restored no problems, if Eeprom is corrupted then the restoring depends on how much is damaged..
Best solution in your case would be to do Immo Off in your replacement ECU and start the car, hoping the SW version of the new Ecu matches the old one and it's not from another Engine type.
Your car is Immo4 so PIN would be useless for you.

So wait for your Ktag and then try to read both Original and Donor and post files here

Thanks antonio , That was my plan of attack

All Bosch ecu numbers are the same EDC17C46 , 0281016374 & 03L907309N only difference is HW: H24 the other is H28

I'll try with IMMO off with the replacement ECU, but 1st i'll try and read the original, Could be hardware fault, which means it'll still need swapping over, These ECU's are a specialist area and cant be done over OBD2, the dealer would just swap the ecu at a cost of £1600 + £144 p/h labour (i've already enquired)

Hi Spudgun5555 have you sorted this yet

Have you tried the ecu back in the car after it was sent back to you and still starts as the guy that said he can clone it may have messed it up.

If the car was in limp mode and no faults sounds like the fault code has possibly been turned off especially if nothing showing on the dash.

these ecu's dont need opening to clone or immo off just the right tool.

where are you at with this where are you located ?

Best regards

Bazaa

Bcm problem

Ok

That would explain why the windscreen wipers not working , but the engine is in limp mode. unless the BCM it is connected to the canbus

The error on your Ktag is probably poor connection on the transflash card or usb cable is crap, i would concentrate on the ecu before looking at the wipers, if you get no where pm me and we will see what we can do. Cheers bazaa

The next hurdle I've fell at is "micro protection failed" on ksuite 2.25 with ktag 7.020. and protocol 199 and 269 isnt on the protocol list. dont think the ktag runs any other ksuite versions

No i dont think you can run another version on ktag, if you want to post it to me i can look at if for you see if I can successfully read it out? I can immo off your replacement or if we can read your old one clone to the replacement.

2.25 is lacking in protocols gonna update ktag sd card to 2.70 and try again with 2.25, it should load up the 2.70 protocols . which i'm hoping P199 is there
