I have a 1997 vw mk3 vr6 gti and I am having problems with my ECU. I'm looking for information on how the pins are physically located on the connector. I have found tables and schematics but I can't match them up with connector.
I'm also having trouble finding an exact part number replacement for 021 906 259 AA. There are parts with different letter codes at the end. Are they just different tuning programs? My version is OBDII. Can I replace it with an OBD1 021 906 258 AA? There is also a 037 906 259 AA for the 98's. Is that compatible with 1997?
Somehow you guys have figured out how to rewrite the eproms. Where did you get this information? I'm looking for primers and datasheets on how these ECUs work and the differences between the different flavor boxes out there for the mk3 cars.
I'm asking here because in searching for the ECU part number I found a link to this site with someone figuring out which eprom is on the board.
