So, i've got my personal Smax 2.0 TDCI. MY 2007. I bought covers+ cluster from the UK. Was driving with it till the MOT, but MOT requires to have the ODO in kilometers and not miles.

I changed the Miles to kilometers, and while I was at it, I rolled the ODO back.

Cluster was showing corrected ODO and in Km as wanted. Problem was, that after some time the ODO stop counting. Freezes. Then after some km, the cluster Shows "ERROR" instead of milage. Then after some time, the car freaks out. All the BCM basically dies. Radio backlight is off, all buttons inside not shining. Speedo is dark blank. Speedo not showing and etc.

After night everything will repeat itself: First The mileage stop rolling, than error, than completely freeze and than everything goes dark.

I passed the MOT, and changed the dump to .ori

What I was doing wrong?

As you can see:

1.) all is ok
2.) then the millage stop counting
3.) then 9999999
4.) Then Error
5.) and final completely blackout.

Update: So I found out, that my problem was, that I used the TachoSoft method, where by hand I changed the data, but not fixed the CheckSum. How to fix the checksum, after I change the Data?

Hello,

Sorry for couple of days delay.

The odometer reads 210663 miles.

My target is 240'xxx kms.

Ok,

So basicaly to change from the miles to KM: $97 00- miles 01-km

Now: 210663 miles = 339029 Km.

I inserted this 339029 km to Tachosoft and got myself a value of: A5 88, which is exactly the same number written in my dump... But where is the checksum then?

See my attached photos.

There is no chk for that dump, write what I uploaded and let me know the outcome

Sorry for late reply.

So the outcome was:

1. I uploaded your dump, but you forgot to change from miles to km. No problem. I changed it myself.
2. Dashboard once again went crazy. When key is not on the "ignition" it shows 999'999km. If key is in "ignition" it shows "ERROR".
3. Removed the dash couple of times.
4. Do not know what happened, I not changed anything, but it seems it fixed itself just by removing and putting the dash back. I removed the Dash from wiring maybe 4-5 times.

I do not know what was the problem. I already driven 330km. Dash counts good, no more errors.
