Hi all,

I am looking for some suggestions with regards to reading this Micronas chip in terms of best cheap setup to use as I am on a tight budget. I was considering buying Xprog from ebay but not sure if there are any better alternatives at the same price range.

I have also seen various instructions on what needs to be done to read / write the chip, but I cannot seem to find a video / wiring diagram explaining the pinouts, and was wondering if anyone could direct me to a post / thread or link?

I've never done any kind of soldering etc, and I think that this is required to read this chip, but willing to give it a go.

My last question, would be to confirm whether I would need to program new keys if I am able to write the old cluster data to the donor one?

Many thanks!

xprogM from ebay is like lotery.
Search on DK you will find pinout exactly for A3 posted by me.
If you want to clone flash+eeprom from old to new you need to have same HW, if not you will end up with a dead cluster.
Best job for this car is obd.

Thank you - will have a look.

The replacement cluster I purchased is the exact same model so shouldn't be a problem.

When you say via OBD2, do you mean to have the cluster on a bench or in the car itself? I had a key programmer that could read my original cluster via OBD2 but it would not connect to the donor at all.
