I have a MK6 GTD Speedometer from a 2011 car.
My plan is to put them in my 2010 TDI car but I’m trying to figure out the best way to install it.
I have a Xtool X100 Pad which is able to read/write eeprom via OBD, so I am able to read the existing speedometer that’s in the car. I believe it also can read PIN info too etc.
However I don’t know which tool to use for writing this data onto the new speedometer? The Xtool doesn’t connect to the new speedometer since the immobiliser kicks in. Although I’ve also read that you can’t just write the EEPROM dump to the new speedometer either.
i have heard of the Arbrites Commander for VAG, I do have a J2534 pass through that I use for ODIS however I’m not sure if there is any tools that’ll work with the J2534 that can write the data to the new speedometer?
