i have a 2006 renault kangoo van ,1.5 dci 70 turbo diesel . Van cannot start, the immo light at the meter stay on after the ignition is on. tried to connect tester to it but cannot communicate with the engine ecu, the rest of system [immoblisier, airbag] can connect & there is no trouble code, check all fuses inside & outside the van , no blown fuse, replace engine ecu, the UCH, the key antenna & the key from another working van & it is still the same, the immo light stay on & van cannot start, any advise for me where to check next. thanks in advance

5 litres of petrol will solve your'e problem, i think u got the famous renault failure , go to a scrap-yard and try 2 change all of the ecu and so on , i'll hope u tried the spare key

keys check already, not the keys problem, normally if the key is the problem .The immo light will flash when the ignition is turn on with a faulty key

hi there, i have had loads of these vans with these immo problems and know alot of the common faults... does it have any fault codes when reading the immo section on your scanner?? from reading you post and you say you have replaced the ecu uch and keys from another van and still have the problem. i have had this before and traced the fault back to the ring decoder/antenna on the barrel. now its not the antenna at fault instead the two pin plug on the loom this corrodes and when tested with a meter will still show current going through the plug but its to low for the transponder info to get to the ecu. cut another plug from a breaker as far back on the loom as poss solder it on and try this. have had quite a few kangoos and clios with this problem.let me know if this does not work post something and i will tell you what to try next under the bonnet. regards

it wont be that if the light flashes its a key to immo related fault, if it stays on there is a loss between the immo box and ecu.

check wiring under fuse box and over gearbox and relay connections.

Does im*o light flash or stay on , if remains on means not talking to engine ecu, if flashes means not recognising key. Do you have engine management light ? Do you have diagnostics to engine ecu?

Sorry just re read post you have no communication to engine ecu. check engine control relay, and feeds to relay think the coil feed comes via inertia switch if you like i can tell you step by step guide. In my opinion it sounds like engine control relay isnt powering up for some reason , m8

hi again, the other common fault as someone else has stated and i have encountered lots of times is the engine control relay in the fuse box under the bonnet. you can tell which one it by leaving the ignition on with the solid light on and when you pull the correct relay out it will go out. check and replace if necessary . also in the same fusebox the is the white connecting plug which is a big plug which connects the interior loom to the engine bay loom, this also suffers from water damage and corrosion so check the connections either side with a probe.

problem solved, thanks everyone that replied, i checked the white connector in the fuse box, a wire seems to have bad connection, cut wire n joined directly still no luck, exchanged all relays from working van still no luck. At last i exchanged the complete looms from fues box to engine from a working van & both van works perfectly, i think it must be a bad connection or bad earth point somewhere as i clean both loom connections & earth points before fixing back the looms, thks you

Corrosion in fusebox is well known problem in CLIO and KAGOO. First you need to chceck is 2 small relays in fusebox. Power and Earth.
I have o lot of cars with this problem.

I know nothing about cars so I don't actually know if this is the same fault. I have a 2003 plate Renault Kangoo. The coil light does not always come on. I have to wait for the engine management light to go off then repeats a few times before the coil does come on, then it starts fine. The glow plugs and relay are both fine. Please can you help or is this the same problem? I am trying to sell the pigging thing

are you sure the relay is fine?
im not sure on that model but sometimes they have a glow plug controller, get that checked
