Today customer called me about not starting car to reprogram the keys - I told him that its not the key problem and if I go to him to do the diagnostic will cost £100 and if is possible will sort the problem
There was no comunication with the engine ECU I cleared the faul codes and shake the cables and the car start - I told him that must call ecectican to check the wires
He paid by bank - Now send me message that want refound - I refused and he told me that will call his bank
How will finish this?

I don’t know what kind of bank system is in UK, but
the n Germany that is not possible.
If you received the money on cash or directly per bank account, you can forget about it.
But online payment with credit cards can be refunded/ canceled or stoped...
In worst case scenario you can make a deal with the client and give him only one part back.
Before you fixed the problem, you told him the price for service. You can not work for free...

I'm sure that in UK is possible to receive refound after real scam and bank payment - I know two cases
and think that also in this case my bank will do refound from my account without do any investigation just because someone is not feeling happy

Do you recording your phone calls ? If yes you have a proof.
Make an invoice for him, send it and that's all. Do you have some photos as a proof you was there ?

I would say contact your bank and explain to them what's happened they will advise you the best way to proceed
and fight your corner
What bank did they send it from ? because most have in place 2 authentic protocol system
normally a text message or email to confirm payment
so they cannot say they didn't send it
If this is the case I think its a civil matter.

I have messeges from his number that is clear that he paid and want refound because the problem is not sorted
Yes this is civil case but I still think that the bank will do refaund lets to see

You should ask
Honest John :)

Always good advise's from this site.
What about a 50/50 split, in your case ?
Or else first level, civil court to get an agreement.

Any intermediate issue don’t have guarantees if you got car started then not the immo issue, could be anything, tell your bank this was the money for call out charges which are not returnable, I always take cash.....

Seriously? Just ignore him, you informed him of diagnosis cost which he accepted.
If you go bet lotto and will not won, you can't demand return because your numbers didnt win...
You sacrificed your time and made diagnosis which of course cost because noone drives to a customer for free. If you told him by phone it will cost xxx to diagnose but not sure if can help with starting the car, he accepted so he cant demand refund, just ignore him. People are dicks nowadays. Be happy you don't live in Poland, here this is common bread.

Yeah we put up with this crap all the time
-startups just see the easy

Well in past i try to play fair then do a formal response and say in future only correspondence in writing. It's same as ignore but legal n formal.
You will keep your money no worries but may get an angry bad review. F it life is tough
