ELM 327 help

This maybe an old thread,got an USB ELM327 with cable in my hands,and try to diagnose servo bulb error on fiat punto 2007.Whether if it is an angle sensor error or the servo motor.Installed it on laptop,FTDI drivers were needed,no yellow marks in control panel so i suppose drivers are OK.Using MultiEcu Scan 4.6R1 from this forum.When I connect interface all 5 leds blink and the power led stays on.On VCDS it reports the interface ok with the note -not connected to the car,which it is the right state,But when try to connect to the car says no interface-no connection.When i test interface in Multiecuscan,the only message i get is : "COMMAND: ATZ
The operation has timed out."

Opened it and changed the CAN endings with 100 ohm resistors and 560pf capacitors (pins were connected with 120 ohms-unsoldered) from pins to the gnd like in the schematics,and nothing yet.I am suspicious is this ELM ok,maybe some IC chip failed-measured all on the board,PIc is also in the board.

R14 removed ,directly connected,same result...............any help appriciated...
I think i have some other problem on this board.Any help with diagbostics for this PCB...

Vcds can't work with elm327.
With multiecuscan it is enough to connect only +12V and gnd to interface and run test interface - probably your elm is very bad.

I can do that but how do I measure signals on mc2551?I want to be sure that i have some impulses on pins 6 and 14.....I had 12V and gnd when i connected ELM to the car and nothing happened ,so i want to rule out settings from broken ELM.Things like port,latency,speed etc...ELM is registered over USB as a ROSS Tech hex usb device,so the part from USB cable i think is OK.Leds that light when ELM is connected to PC-light all,when i test over VCDS,2 of them light,but when i connect to the car,the last 2 LEDS never light up!So I thnk maybe a broken PCB or mc2551 is mulfunctioning(Although no shorts on the IC pins).I was thinking an oscilloscope,or is there something more easier to conclude something?

I need to correct myself in the writing so far.The problems are solved.....two of them.First problem is the bad solder joint on one of the pins that lead to the connector.At first it wasn`t visible,but later it was noticed.The second problem was anti virus.During installation,somehow USB-serial port wasn`t installed correctly,everything was showing as good,but after install,something changed in the messages,which lead me to believe in the pcb solder circuit.After fixing,connected to the car,the error was position sensor,so for now i will prepare myself for the repair.Servo works except error message,and the message looses itself after on-off with the car start.ELM works,but could it be used for some elementary tests with Citroen C3 year 2004?Of course what program to use if possible......thank you all....a friend of mine asked me to erase errors if possible.....
