Hello,

I'm new and I want to know know when it says bridge the crystal, what is this, why do it? and how to do it?

It means short the two pins of the on board crystal,this is usually an oblong metal case with rounded ends, and most have a frequency printed on the top.

Oh I see,

1.) Why would be the reason to do this?
2.) How would you do this, just get a wire and connect both sides together on the metal case?

a crystal is the timbase or clock for a microcontroller it will stop working if you short the pins together,
only reason is possibly to carry out external programming of the device.
