Virgin Media has started to send out new smartcards to its TV customers, currently we're sending them to customers in Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole and Ashford. The new smartcard is easy to swap with the old - find out how at Switching your Smart Card.

The new smartcard is important. It works differently to the old card, and uses newer technology which will form part of a range of exciting new digital TV services from 2010 and onwards, including more HD channels, new TV on demand features and of course we’re also working on integrating TiVo into our TV service too!

Customers in the Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole and Ashford should have already received their new cards (or will be recieving them soon) and it’s important your old card is swapped out as soon as possible. Over the next few days, in the regions listed, we’ll be turning off some of the older TV signals on our network so if you haven’t swapped the card yet, please do so as soon as you can to ensure an uninterrupted service.

If you are in the Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole or Ashford areas and think you need a new smartcard please head to Switching your Smart Card and check our frequently asked questions (FAQ).

If you’re not in one of the regions listed, don’t panic, everyone will be getting a new smartcard. We’ll be going around the country region by region as we upgrade our TV service, and we’ll be in touch by post when it’s your turn. In the meantime, don’t worry there won’t be any changes to your TV service until that time.

i know that because we inputted the smart card in but what's that got to do with the box super channels not working: bbc 1, 2, itv1, ch4, ch5, bbc three and bbc four all work but the rest of them don't for some reason even though i put loads of codes in from NTL.

it is, been a good run, starview 3 at least 2 years old, had your moneys worth, get on with life, better things round the corner ie new sat set up, proper ~~~~, 3pm football etc.

so calm down, its only telly.

when i was growing up, we only had bbc1, bbc2 and itv, so your spoilt for choice.

im sorry it wont work, we have had over 10 years for free of cable, so good run.

if you can put a sat dish up, and get sat receiver like dreambox you will get more choice, as said before, google cccam.

anoher thing, stick it on ebay over weekend, you will at least get some cash for a new setup.
