Hello ,
I have a 2008 e92 m3 with a key that is being recognized by the car as "key 1"

In the car key file which lists the 10 keys
(link below)
Each immodata line is prefaced with a key type identifier code which signifies what type of key it is.

I think it was a vvdi or similar manual, I read somewhere that these identifier codes should be:
002b00, (spare key/chip key)
004b00, (remote key/semi smart key)
005b00 (smart key)
And in the same manual, it said something about prefacing it with an F for some reason I can't recall exactly why. so with the F they looked like F02B00. F04B00, T05B00 IIRC.

Also, the remote data lines look like there is some repeated data shared between them. particularly the last few digits. Ending in 001, 002, Or 006 possibly,?

Also. I believe new. Unused slots should be labeled with 107608 or F17608 or something similar to that code. Again with or without a starting F.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction regarding why my car would be recognizing my key (key1), and cranking engine, but refusing to start the engine?
The comfort access works to turn on ignition works to unlock door with the handle, and also the remote locks/unlocks the doors.
But when I press power button it just cranks but will not start

The best I've managed to come up with so far Is these key identifier codes.

Since the x431 xprog3 programmer I'm used appears to not follow the same code but very close.

But beyond that that's all I was able to find in thia regard

Please what am I missing here?

Are there any errors in the engine computer and did the car start before that, what did you do on that car, did you add a new key?

All keys lost, so I added a key and it is recognized by car keyless, and also plugged into slot.

But will not start, just cranks.

I did a hell of alot to this car, it has been down for going on a month or more.
Up until last night, it wouldn't even detect any key, and no keyless key was working either.

Car has just been parked in front of my house and unlocked!! Hint hint to any car jackers out there.

I updated the dme and read the cas on bench, and used cas3 editor to confirm its not corrupt

I also took a full backup of mss60 engine ecu with mss6x flasher, injected a rsa bypass, and modified a byte in the hex to turn off immo synch with the cas.

I've done everything I can possibly think of and still it will not start.

The car was running perfectly a month ago
My key quit being detected by cas, which is where my issues started

Now it's back to recognizing the key and even comfort access is working
