I hope this is the right forum to ask this, but here goes...
C class Merc, C220 diesel W204. The original cluster is dead. Nothing, no lights just cabbaged. Power supplies on the board look ok and the NEC MCU has 5v. I can get an identical cluster from ebollox with every number the same. HW, SW etc the same as well as the part number(s). So, if I just swap the 24C128 eeprom will this work? Is there any data in the MCU that needs to be copied as well? I definitely suspect the MCU is dead. I ask this because there are other makes of vehicle with modules that have data in the MCU that is per vehicle specific as well as eeprom data - thinking of modules in Fords.
Anyway, any pointers greatly appreciated.
