Hello.
I need help with coding the ESP MK25A controller. There is an error in the driver, incorrect coding. Unfortunately the (original) VCDS doesn't have a hint and I don't know what's wrong. The car already came to me like this, but from what I know, it once had a replaced engine (I don't know if it was the same) and probably had an automatic gearbox (the current owner also has limited knowledge about the car). Below is the bug number (in Polish) and a full scan of the car in the attachment. Thanks in advance for any tips on this coding. Regards.

"Had an automatic transmission" means it now has manual transmission? If yes, that causes the problem. ABS still knows the old setup.

Edit addition: it could also be, that engine is not properly coded I guess. At least what I am saying is, that there seems to be a mismatch regarding the transmission type.

It had an automatic transmission and now it's a manual. I do not know if the engine controller has been replaced, but it does not generate errors due to the lack of a gearbox controller. If this car was with original equipment, I would do online coding. I can't find information which encoding byte to change (test). greetings.

Engine will not complain because engine is the master saying if this car is manual or automatic and it doesn't care if it really is that way or not. But ABS does care. You should first check engine if there is something to modify about manual or automatic transmission. That's my theory of how it works in this car. Maybe there is a workaround in ABS, but I would not touch it first if I were you.

Doing online will not solve this, if things were modified. Online will alsways code the units the way the vehicle was manufactured.

I just know that on line will upload factory coding. That's why I don't do it. the question which byte in the abs encoding is responsible for the type of gearbox.
greetings.

I think you did not quite understand what I was writing. In this kind of ABS you should not play around about gearbox type. What I am saying is, check the engine. In engine the gearbox type is defined. And ABS reads that. But it also compares it to whether a gearbox is available or not - and if that mismatches, it gives you DTC. But you do not set the gearbox type in ABS because the ABS just trusts what is coded in engine in this kind of car.

ok i will try with engine coding.

ok i will try with engine coding.

If you don't succeed there, ping me up again. I suggest to go through all the coding settings in engine with VCDS for example. Maybe it is an adaptation channel so you should check these, too.

Hello.
in the engine it looks like the correct coding, Abs coding is also for the manual gearbox (byte 6). Maybe someone has an idea?
greetings.

Think I can confirm engine is set to a manual transmission.

No clue what you did in the meanwhile, but in byte 6 in ABS there is no setting for gearbox type.
