Hi guys!


I'm having trouble with dumping the file of this ECU (eeprom 93C76 (https://datasheetspdf.com/pdf-file/1078316/STMicroelectronics/M93C76/1)). I'm using an EZP2023+ which works great with other eeproms (like a 95 eeprom from an ABS pump) but the dump i'm getting, looks different from dumps I found from other members on this forum. FYI: I'm not using a clip but instead desoldered the eeprom and placed it directly onto the programmer


I have this problem now with two exact the same ECU's. Both dumps won't show me a VIN number and no 54/94 in the adresses 06-0B


Am I doing something wrong? Even if I do change adress 06-0B to 31 and click write, It won't write that data and (offcourse) won't verify

Hi there! Thanks for your attempt to help but the problem is that I cannot write to the 93C76 eeprom. I'm guessing I'm not using the right setting or something.

So my question is:

What am I doing wrong? Why does my dump doesn't show a VIN and doesn't show the 54/94 in adress 06-0B and why can't the eeprom been written?

maybe corrumpted data with low battery or samone write wrong dump

you need to fix size eeprm 93C76 not 1K but 8K and read write normal

Again thanks for your reply! Very much appreciated!

As far as I understand, the eeprom get's 5.5 volts which should be sufficient. The 93C76 does have a 1KB memory which means 8Kb as shown below in a converter.

I unfortunately do not have another eeprom programmer :-(

Yesterday I had the opportunity to test another eeprom writer and it does read the chip just fine. I was able to adjust the chip and the car is running again. So that means my eeprom writer is not reading the chip correctly.

Hi. Depends if you read on the ecu board? Is it desoldered on the base? When you read in layout, it doesn't read well. As on the stand, check if the pins are clean because sometimes it does not connect well and there is a bad reading. It is best to read several times and compare whether the reading is identical. best regards
