Hy guys, what is the best solution to read and write a EDC17CP14 via OBD ?

The car is a Audi 3.0TDI manufactured 02/2009.

VCDS shows that ECU has been flashed in 2011 (probably dealer update).
Version is 4F9910402A_0080

From what i read here, untill 09/2009 tprot is not present.

Thanks

It's best to read with a full backup then you're safe

If the software number starts with 10373 it has no tprot, if it starts with 10375 then it has tprot.

Kess or Mpps will work on this ecu ,Mpps will tell you if you have write protection or not on Obd .

They all read in boot mode. I would choose Ktag

Thank’s. I will get a MPPS V18 and give it a try.

Ok, i bought a KTag 2.25.

The problem is that it came with a 12V 1A power adapter and i know that EDC17 needs at least 1.5-1.7A when you do bootmode.

Is there any problem if i use a laptop charger 19V 4.7A ?
ECU draws how much it needs or the KTag will inject directly 19V 4.7A ?

no, for ecu max 15v ...

Thanks. Then it would be safe to use a 13V 2.1A adapter. I found out that my printer uses this type. :)

I had no problems with the k-tag clone adapter on this ecu. Your 13V 2.1A is ideal though :-)

Then it’s “myth busted” that EDC17CP14 needs at least 1.5A for boot mode. :)
On the clone adapter is stated 12V 1A but in reality it’s 0.8A (at least mine is).

For safety reasons i will use the 13V 2.1A one, as i already have it and i don’t need to buy it.

use a 7 ah 12V UPS type lead battery, it's the best method

Why 12V 7A is better than 13V 2.1A ? This ECU does not need so many Amps.

If i use your solution, i need to buy a battery and a battery charger, instead if i use my solution is free (as i said, i already have a 13V 2.1A adapter).

I don’t need to use the KTag on other ECU types, just on this one.

All went good. Could someone take a look at my file and see if it's ok ? Thanks.

Yes, i used DaVinci.

Can you help me with that ?
Swirl&EGR Off are ok with DaVinci on this ECU ?
