cable Dreambox 500, Can you help,,,

Hi all,
I have a Dreambox 500 that does not look like any othere Dreambox 500 that I have seen on this or any othere website it came in a plain white box, it has DVB on the front and has nothing on it to say Dreambox 500. I found out it was a 500 on the PC when I did the "flashing process".
We had it a few months, it's been working fine and was very pleased with it.
It recently lost most of the channels and I did the flashing process from the original Dream website I downloaded the framework and image and have now lost all the channels. It does not find a transponder/cable provider during setup, and finds NO channels during search.
Is my Dreambox 500 a copy and if so am I limited to what I can do with it?
Can someone please help me sort this?

i have just uploaded the new dior image with auto updates aswell in the download section for the dm500 all you have to do is flash it to your dreambox BUT..
when it asks you ''do you want to perform a flash erase'' make sure you DO NOT click yes, click no (nein) ok.
Scan for the channels and your away to go ok.
