You need to reflash the image to your boxHello All,
I'm from Spore.
I am not sure if this is the place to ask for help.
I just bought this HD box, connected to my S***hub and working OK. However, my son was navigating the features and so happen did a automatic scan then the whole channel list go haywire. Then he did a "factory reset" hoping to restore the settings by rebooting the box but this failed and now we can even watch anything from the box. What I can see is just the DM800 logo page.
I need help on how can restore this box.
Can someone be kind to give some light.
Thks in advance.
Go over to the sg starhub thread to request for a most updated dm 800 image and the keys
And read up that thread for flashing and other common problem for dmLeave a comment:

As a new DM User this was very helpful.Hi,
Well I will try and answer what I can for you...
I use Gemini image, I tried pli but kept crashing.
Very easy to FTP to and if you IM me I can give you pointers. Please make sure you have the DM500s username and password (they may have been changed)
Use Dreamboxedit to upload Channel lists (I personally use SgtFlipFlop just search on DK)
You could connect it to a pc, via a crossover cable then share internet connection with box. Personally I would use a wifi dongle or homeplugs.

These are my personal opinions and other people may see differently and choose something different.
Thank youLeave a comment:

Total Newbie needs a little bit of help
Hey everyone I'm just starting to get into using a Dreambox and I've spent the last few weeks reading and researching what I need and found a few conflicting articles so I thought the best thing to do would be to come and ask the opinions of regular people like yourselves.
I have a Dreambox 500s in the post and I can't wait to wire it up and flash it to get cheaper sky. I already have a sky dish installed and because I have no interest at the present moment in time to receive any other satellites, this should suffice yes?
Also, I have read many conflicting articles and wish to enquire as to people's opinions of the best image to flash the Dreambox with - bearing in mind that the primary function would be to use Cccam and receive Sky.
I have heard that Gemini is a relatively good image to use, can anyone support this?
Also I do realise I may get a slap on the wrist for posting this but I'm not sure if it should be anywhere else on the site or just not at all...
*************
Other than that I don't believe I have any more questions, I feel I am very confident in flashing the box and editing the Cccam config. You can flash the DM500s by FTP'ing in with a crossover cable yes? Or will I be better off going and buying a USB to RS232 converter and flashing via the RS232 port?
One very last point. Would it be possible to cable my Dreambox into a PC (which is on a wireless network) - to receive an internet signal? Or would it be more conducive to relocate the router nearer to the Dreambox and then wiring into that?
Thanks for any help anyone can give
