I'm having problems with setting up the recording to my pc.

In the Recording Settings instructions you refer to setting the default directory as mnt/movies. I can't see this directory, I only have mnt and no other sub directories here. Are you saying that I should create the sub directory movies in mnt? Or have I missed something?

When I press the record button I get the message "The recording directory is not writable. Recording will not work"

(I just set the default directory to mnt - didn't know what else to do. Also set it to this in Movie Player).

      Anybody any ideas?

What image are you using on your dbox? I had this exact same problem with the blade quad image. I reflashed my dbox with the original boxcracker bluepeer v1.1 image that was in my box and it worked perfectly. Some images seem to have a problem with the recording side of things. Let me know if you manage to sort it out.

It sould be possible to do this. You would need to share the hard drive and the foolders you wanted to record to, then name the drive (G:, H: and so on) and use this drive letter in the recording settings on your dbox. Hope you get it going.

I'm using the new Laky image. I have never heard of the image you mention. I could reflash but I quite like the Laky one. I will see if I can get it going. Thanks.

I am using the commando image and everything fine with program just cant get it to mount drives on PC properly, it just tries to save within the /mnt/Movies directory on DBox. I created directory as not there by default. I then get an error after a few seconds of record as I run out of space on box for recording.
Is there a work around for this as I just cant get it to work.

                    Thanks in advance

Audio Steams not working on Non-FTA channels

As I said, I had to do a complete reboot both your pc and the dbox to get the sound to work.
Sorry to pick up this thread so late - but I also can't get audio. For those of you who can, can you post some more details about your dbox image and settings for uuCode/Stream settings/firewalls etc as I think that this audio problem may also possibly be related to the image being used.
The VLC forum debug forums shows a problem with some TS audio streams coming from non-FTA which VLC can't handle. (Certainly the NAR/English audio channels are reversed).
