    Commando and EPG

    Hi all,

I have just flashed this image onto my box and it's really cool, great pic quality and thanks to the makers.

I am having difficulties getting the 7 day EPG going, I have edited the epg filter with metapad as the instructions state, made sure its got no typos or syntax errors ftp'd it to box, rebooted and left on pvr_epg for 10 minutes, but only get "now and next" for the channels in the filter (the ones I want 7 day epg for) and nothing for the ones I want just "now & next" for.

    Any help suggestions appreciated.

Hello Strummer, you could try checking the time on the box in case it has the wrong one.
    Best of luck

        Check few things re EPG?

        Hi guys,

Got TC10c set up and working fine - did a lot of reading and learnt a lot (had 9.25 before so Im not a complete noob).

Just wondered if someone could clear up a few things re the EPG on 10c...

        1. By default, "Now N next" is enabled on all channels? (Some of mine have N&N, some dont).
        2. For the full 7 day epg, you have to add the channels you WANT from the bouquet into the provider xml?
        3. Theres some of the basic channels in the provider xml by default. Should these channels have full 7 day EPG by default?
        4. EPG dir should be left to "blank" (default)?
        5. To update / "download" full EPG, turn to PVR_EPG channel for 10mins?
        6. Putting onto standby for 10mins does the same thing as 5?
        7. ZapTo timers set by default to switch to PVR_EPG channel overnight (Mine says "Program unknown" in the rule - i've added the PVR_EPG channel to a bouquet ("data") - how to I add the channel in the rule/timer?)
        8. Did I read something about a "15 day epg", or did I dream that?

The answers to this should let me get this working, I understand it mostly, just checking a few things!

          Looking at ntl_epgFilter.xml

I believe I have the first version, where you add the channels you only want N&N for, rather than full 7 day...

          <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<?This file is for 'pure' ntl areas, and filters the channels you rarely if ever watch
to restrict them to the default 'Now and Next EPG' only.

I recall there was an update to this file, where you add the channels you DO want full 7 day for - correct?

Assuming this is correct, and that this file keeps the channels listed to N&N, presumably the others should have full 7 day? At the moment they have "EPG Not Available".

I guess I need to go to PVR_EPG channel for c10 mins, then swap the xml file for the new one, then PVR_EPG again?

BTW - PVR_EPG is coming up as "Channel Not Available" - is that right?

            Edit ZapTo channel in timer

Yay - answered (part of) my own question...

"7. ZapTo timers set by default to switch to PVR_EPG channel overnight (Mine says "Program unknown" in the rule - i've added the PVR_EPG channel to a bouquet ("data") - how to I add the channel in the rule/timer?)"

It seems you can't actually edit the ZapTo channel in an existing timer, but you CAN if you add a new timer...

So i just added a new timer (including the Zapto Channel = PVR_EPG), deleted the old one and it looks like it'll work now.

Just posted in case anyone else has the same...
