Applying the fix to Sagem Dbox2

I still can't apply the fix to my Sagem Dbox2 having tried all hints and tips given previously,(thanks to everyone), but nothing seems to be working! Is there anyone out there that can take me through this step by step?

I'm linking directly from computer to the box via an ethernet crossover cable and running Windows XP with service pack 2.

I've tried using Filezilla and Flash FTP's and have followed the instructions given in "How to FTP the fix into the Dbox for noobs".

I get the message "connecting" but then it always seems to "time out"

Could the person that used to "fix" my Dbox have applied his own password?, or am I creating a new password when I set up the box as a new site in the FTP program?

If he has applied his own password will I have to re-flash the box?

Any other help is much appreciated!!!!!

Noobs Helpme file for Setting up a DBOX to PC
    What you need
    1 PC
    1 Dbox2
    1 Crossover cable
    1 spare network card (NIC)

This can be done thru a router/ hub. But will go the easy route for the newbie’s
    Once windows has booted up
    Goto my network/view network connections
Right click on the network card you are going to use for the dbox
    Select properties for that NIC
    Click on configure
Click on Advanced from the top menus
Set connection to auto or 10 baseT half duplex
Go back to the Local Connection Properties
Scroll down the list of network options till you get to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Goto properties and enter these numbers (you could use different ones but try these)
    Select “Use the following”
In the “IP Address” enter 192.200.200.200
In the “Subnet Mask” type 255.255.255.0
    Then press Ok
Now goto your dbox and set the IP by selecting
    Menu/settings/Network
On the “IP Address” enter this 192.200.200.201
    Click on Start/restart network
Now if you have set it up correctly
And stuck in the lead from the pc to box you now can ftp into the dbox
You are best to use an FTP program as its easier (I use Total Commander)
Or you could use Windows browser

    Now the fun bit
    Type this into your browser
    192.200.200.201
And you should see the dbox control screen; here you can do lots of great things
To access the box for purposes of sticking in your saved images/bouquets type this
    ftp://192.200.200.201@root:dbox2
    The name is root
Password is root or dbox2 or whatever the image is protected by
(This is different on some images)
Doing this brings up this screen

    FTP root at 192.200.200.201

The var folder is where you need to go to add bouquets
    Var/Tuxbox/Config/Zappit/
    FTP directory /var/tuxbox/config/zapit/ at 192.200.200.201

    12/31/1969 12:00AM 26,337 services.xml
    12/29/2007 01:41PM 81 zapit.conf

Here you see the 2 files that need to be overwritten
    “Bouquets.xml” & “Services.xml”

These are the channels for your box and are different to anyone else
That lives in a different city copy over your 2 files into this and reboot box
    Hope this is of help

The Dbox has Andromeda V2.0 so I'm wondering if the person that used to update it put his own password in so that I would have no option but to pay him for updating it, or is there a specific password for Andromeda?

        Thanks for the post!
