new dbox2

hiya,

im new to the scene and have just acquired a new dbox.
I have neutrino and commander release 6 dated 2006.

should i update it to version 10?
what issues will i encounter ?
will i have issues wih my list of channels ?
will i still receive my 'full' channel list ?
if i connect the dbox to the internet will my current version update automatically?

Hi m8.

Newer images are better quality and faster, besides that they are better looking.

You will need to save a few things before updating.

Save the keys and Emu folders and also save the services and bouquet files so you dont loose wha you have set up.

The box will no update to a new image on the net, you need to do it yourself.

files you need to ftp from your current image to your pc are.

/var/bin/Emu
/var/Keys
/Var/tubox/config/zapit (service and bouquet files)

Once you flashe new image just transfer them back and add the new rom files and do a scan.

will loading version 10 allow for auto updates?

I didnt recieve any (original) cd's with my dbox do I need them to update to version 10.

what are the chances of the update going wrong?

Can I back up my current install and then revert to it?

Yes you can back it up and revert if needed. New C10 image is free to air only and you will need the files I posted about earlier.

If you have a crossover cable then it is really easy.
