    Hyperterminal/null cable query

    Am i able to update dbox2 with new roms using hyperterminal/null cable method

    all you have to do is connect a crossover cable very simmiler to a network cable well pretty exact but the wiring is different just plug it in to the pc's network card and in the back of the dbox then follow this guide

      No you can't add single files with a null modem cable. This is only for flashing images or logging the output. FTP is required to transfer single files, as above.

            just trying to do this it keeps saying 'uncompressing kernal image' on start up

            any ideas whats gone wrong

              That image I posted this morning was for a dreambox, not a dbox2, I removed it within a minute of posting it. If that's the image you flashed then I'm sorry it won't work and you may have buggered the box.

              Flash any other image (1x or 2x whatever your box is) using IFA (null modem cable and ethernet cable) and hopefully it will come back to life. If you don't have ethernet, use the hyperterminal method.

                oh crap i did just flash it, will have a look tmrw

                do you have the dbox2 image or know where i can get with rom onboard
