I shouldn't have spoken so soon..the 'uCode Built-in' is still causing sync problems although not as bad as the other uCode settings.
In the end I needed to activate 'Write Synchronous (fdatasync) to avoid the problem - unfortunately this also results in much more HDD activity and thus noise too, which is a bit off putting during more quiet moments.
I'm going to try to reflash with an earlier image to double check the Direct Recording Settings to see whether there were any differences.
Renwich - which version of NFS is installed in the image? In the Help option in 'Recording Settings' it says NFS v2 is limited to 2Gb files, whereas v3 is unlimited..I just wanted to make sure I have the right setting. Also could this version of NFS be likely to be causing sync read/write problems - can you advise which files I could replace from an earlier 'good' image to test if this is the problem?
