              Hi Validus,

What you need to do from your pc go to the dos prompt and
              enter this command. ipconfig /all
The system will display your PC's IP subnet mask and gateway. The subnet mask and gateway need to be the same on PC and Dreambox. The ip needs to be different otherwise you will have an ip conflict.

Normally PC's are set to DHCP which means it will go and search the network to find an ip address not being used and use that one. So each time you power up your pc the DHCP side may well use a different IP.

when you have assigned an IP to the dreambox through the setup menu you should then be able to go to a dos prompt and type in the command

              ftp 192.168.1.4
then you should be asked for the login then password.

the 192.168.1.4 is the ip you have assigned to the Dreambox, use other values if you want.

              Regards

              Harpo.

I know this mate, but i dont really want to set my IP as the same because im on a laptop so if i connect to another network and there is a PC or something else already connected with that IP i wont get an internet connection. So whenever i plan to connect my dbox i will just ipconfig /all to see what IP's are open

                Thanks for your help mate.
