    Hi,
What are you trying to do with your Dbox
Are you using a crossover cable or a null modem cable

use a null cable Get onto properties of the Local area connection. Highlight the internet protocol. Click on properties. Click on use the following protocols. Give the ip address eg..192.168.254.002 (or whatever) press tab to get the subnet mask address. use the same ip address for default gateway & preferred dns server.

Go into the box, settings>network. goto ip address, change to same as the computer but +1 at the end eg. 192.168.254.003.
      Hit start/restart network.

You should now be able to connect to the dbox using flashxp......once there....do what you have to.
username is usually root and password is dbox2

      hope this helps.

(in order to do this, you must have an image installed on the dbox.)

i use a null cable...straight from the box to the laptop....so much easier...i tried going through my router once...didnt work. Null cable works a treat mate. Direct from the box to ur lan connection on your laptop.

I used a null modem for the arnet box on desktop it worked a treat but couldnt get it to work on laptop with the usb converter, so I got a crossover cable and with help from the forum (thanks everyone) I got it to work and fixed the Dbox. You need a FTP programme too, I used Filezilla and there are guides to help you in the download section
