    sagem d-box

hi im trying to update my mates dbox, now ive read a lot of threds about flashing images and roms and other things and i have no idea what i need to do next, he can get bbc1 2 itv 1 2 3 and some others but nothing else. i have also read some guides and i am finding them confusing. the only thing i can think of is if i tell you what i see when i turn it on.
when the box powers up i see a pix of 3 guys that look like something from halo with the words team commando across the top. then the screen changes and then i see

    ----------------- image info-----------------

    image version : 5.00
    image type : snapshot
    creation date : 2006-09-21
    creation time : 17:01
    creator : team-commando
    image name : a_new_hope

    loading..........

now i think i have the leads that i need( as i said i have read some threads) but i need to where to go from here. thanks for reading.

I'm not clued up with the Team Commando images but they should be based the same as others with the folders.

You need to FTP the nagrarom7 file to the keys folder overwriting the existing one.

Flash XP, Cute FTP or the one I use is Core FTP Lite. All are free downloads.

Do a search for FTP (File Transfer Protocol).

      Download the nagrarom7.bin file here

4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download CryptFTA101-01122008.zip

          No he doesn't.

Old images will work perfectly well as long as the ROM are updated.

All the images now that are hosted on this site and others tend not to have the keys and roms installed for legal reasons
Like said above once you've sent the image to the box via network cable using image flash assistant in the d/l section.

Then you'll have to ftp to the box to insert the roms and services and bouquets (last 2 are a option) to get the image to work.

CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR SAGEM I A 1CHIP OR 2 CHIP BOX .....YOU MAY HAVE TO OPEN THE BOX IF YOUR NOT SURE AND LOOK FOR THE CHIP MARKED 'INTEL' OBVIOUSLY IF THERE'S 2 THEN YOU REQUIRE THE 2X IMAGE ETC

You could try the bigmac toolbar and get the images from there....sure there is one with the neccessary already

Your old commando image will have all the EMU's and ROMS already installed, however all of the ROM files are out of date and they won't return a working key.

You will need to replace the ROMs with the newer ones, to do this grab yourself a cross-over network lead and plug it into the arse of the Dbox2, plug the other end either into your PC or into your router.

Download the ROMs, there is a link on this site.

Download an FTP client, something like FlashFXP will be fine, it is available on this site for download.

Using your Dbox2 remote, press the Dbox button and go into SETTINGS > NETWORK and edit the network to be compatible with your PC's network.

Load up FlashFXP on your PC and click on the little yellow lightening bolt on the top menu bar, select 'Quick Connect', enter the IP address of your Dbox2 (which you setup earlier) and enter the username 'root' and password 'commando', once connected browse the Dbox2 until you get to /var/keys and copy the new ROM's here,it will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing files, just answer yes.

Depending on the image, you may need to copy the ROM's into the SCCE folder aswell.

Restart the CAM or just restart the Dbox2 and it should clear the channels in a few seconds.
