    i have seen people with a photo of there kids when thay boot up there dbox how do they do it

      You need to change the bootup logo with one of your own.

      But it also depends on what image you're using. Some images don't allow the logo to be changed.

          Logoviewer is very good for changing boot picture on the Dbox. It will convert it for you and even ftp it to the box for you if you are connected to it. Its at link below.
