dbox tuner falt?

hi guys just bought a dbox 2 got it home tried flashing kept cutting me of just before transfering new image,finally got the image over and flashed ...when it boots up it comes up very grainy pic i mean quit bad,,,then i scan for transponders only get about 30 or so and doesnt pick up on any channels....i have put all relevent files on but no joy is it the tuner or is it somat else doin my head in i think if i got any channels the pic would be shit anyways my other box is fine have i been duped into buying a f++cked up box....thnx micky

Connect the box to the main feed without any splitters and try another scan. The tuners on the dbox2 vary in strength for some reason, some need a signal booster and some are ok.

Press RED > BLUE and not the SNR reading. It needs to be over 55,000 before you'll get channels and needs to be over 62,000 before you'll get all the channels working ok. Anything inbetween will result in missing channels or freezing channels.

i mean like even when loading up the pic seems rubbish on loading screen really fuzzy when it is telling you what version install you have etc...my original box is perfect pic just noticed that the tuner on back does look messed with xtra solder maybe

snr was over 63000+ then changed to 26000+ on next boot.The ber signal is big 3000

it is straight to wall,no i didnt have my backed up image on it but i have just copied my backed up image to it but doesnt find it when going to flash,just shows cancel?? why would it not be there? thnx micky

is your other box same as the faulty box ie both nokia or sagems,be carefull sagem are iether 1x or 2x image
back up that image from workin box and ftp it to the faulty
box to var/temp folder,then goto your remote find flash image
via the blue button i think,flash without bootloader and you should see the image there highlite it and start to flash

yes as i said in above post i have backed up my image from good box ,same box nokia dbox2 2xchip and it still does not see that in the option flash without bootloader just says cancel wierd isnt it...help

try renaming the backup image mtd3.img,then ftp it to the var/temp folder dont reboot the box,then goto the remote find flash image the flash with out boot loader,then it should say on screen mtd3.img high lite that and away you go it should start flashing

it is already by default called mtd3.img i think?or do you mean change this name to something else thnx micky

You are putting it in /tmp not var/tmp and dont unplug the box from the mains as doing that will delete the image you have just transferred to the /tmp folder and thats maybe why you cant see it
write one partition and flash without bootloader

think that could be it ! anyways i will try again when home cheers guys "i`ll be back " usually never have a problem with this just shows everyone needs help sometimes super dk...micky

found mt3.img flashed come up waiting for time,tried a scan does not find any thing put relevant files in au,keys etc no find ,pic still bad could it be tuner?? micky help pls

Check your video settings mate (RGB/CVBS dependant on yer TV), that may fix the grainy picture....... as for the no channels, I'd change the ucodes till I found one that works (1 or 14 are favourites). If that don't work reflash with Blade or commando as they are favourable images to use with iffy tuners......
