But what guarantee do they have that this will instantly grow the numbers of subs to the XXL package? For all they know, they might lose most of them to Sky.

Which means they could finish up worse than when they started- losing thousands of basic subs too!

And how many cards would VM have to issue, compared to the outfit in the ROI, who are minnows by comparison? Finally, can they afford it? Look at the loss they just posted.

              Cheers- AL

Very much doubt it. How much would Sky Charge?? alot. Looking at VMs financial situation, i dont think they could afford Sky nevermind Nagra 3.

Part of the deal that saw the Sky channels return to VM was that they step up their attempts to combat the hackers. That's why were had the actions at the end of Nov, beginning of Dec. But that was only a deterrent for a few weeks, at most. They know what the permanent solution is, it's just a matter of time.

personally i think nag3 will be later rather than sooner and only if sly put more pressure on vm.

I suppose that regardless of what they do there will always be some guy that will manage to hack their encryption...i hope .

@Devilfish...yeah thats what i heard too about th vm and s*y deal, still find it rather strange that they will get their biggest rivals to do their encryption though.
