Have you tried using flashfxp instead of IFA, all you need is a crossover cable, flashfxp and the image you wish to flash (my preference would be Blade Quad)

I could be totally wrong here but I thought for IFA you needed both a null modem and a crossover cable, but I dont usually use IFA.

ou can get a crossover cable on ebay for about ?1 plus postage or if you have a local computer shop (not pcworld) you can get them for less than ?5 or even Maplins...if you have Maplins near you.

yeah i thought the null modem cable was just for the logs outputted by ifa for troubleshooting if the flash was unsuccessful.
when i had a dbox i only ever used a crossover cable to flash them with ifa and never used a null modem cable.

You need a crossover cable if you're going to flash with IFA. A null modem cable is also advised because the null modem interrupts the boot process and allows IFA to take over. Without the null modem cable it might take you 5/10/15 reboots before IFA kicks in and starts flashing.

If you only have a null modem cable then you can still flash the box using the hyperterminal method but it will take a while.

            There's a guide here....

How to Flash a Dbox2 using only a null modem cable

When you have posted it can take up to an hour for your account to update that's why you might not be able to download.....

I only use a crossover with IFA, and it did take loads of reboots, especially on a kein system sagem. BUT there was another guide out there on another forum, (now gone) and it worked very well. I had lots of trouble and posted on the forum a guide from another forum. However one guy said the guide was not great and changed one step. I think you intentionally turn the nokia off when it is usually plugged in, so the boot process never works, then you start it up again on the minimised screen that IFA produces.

I will try and find it, but I never had to plug the box in more than once using it, and usually got it on 3 reboots max.
