problem flashing image using null modem cable

I use a straight ethernet cable straight from the computer to the box and a null modem cable. Always done in less than five minutes.

Using a laptop I make sure the Wireless is disabled and the LAN enabled.

Always have the box powered up when loading the software into IFA and double check your connection shows connected (if not, disable/enable/repair connection until connected shows).

Load the image into IFA, hit the start icon, when told to power up the box hit ok then power off and straight back on. (Having the power on then powering off and back on is important)

cheers every1 4 the help. i tried again 2day using a null modem cable and hyper terminal. i went through all the stages no probs apart from the last bit. when it said 'copy to flash' it only took 2mins before it said it was done. i disconnected from the pc and turned the box back on and nothing it seems the image didnt load up. any suggestions? or av i fuct my box?

stroke of luck! finally got an image load. cudnt find any channels tho, trying a different image as we speak. im determined suss this shit out. cudnt have got this far with out the knowledge of u guys. cheers. if it all goes tits up is there any1 out there near to stoke to pull me out the shit? im willing drive most places.

can u ftp to the box now?

u'll have bear with me, i dont no wot ftp is, ive loaded an image using null and hyper terminal. commando 10 x2. the image loaded up and i cud go through the dbox menu but cudnt pick any channels so im trying a different image. i avnt got a xover cable so im limited to wot ican do, plus im a ~~~in noob! haha

u got a router use an ordinary ethernet....got 1 spare?

u will need to ftp - connect between box and pc at some stage

If you set your location and scan with comm 10
You will get free to air
Then you can advance
Lets know if you get this far
To keep reflashing will do you know good
All the images made will gat you FTA

i dont want count me chickens but ive just loaded another image, doing a service scan now and it picking up a shit load of channels. fingers ~~~in firmly crossed!

need your helps..
i try my first time flashing image to my s10 using null cable..since the s10 is dead (no display)..
Using Eromupgrade.. On step 3; the massage 'burning image is failed'.... 'click back and try again'...
what is the problem...please help me..
