    Serriously messed up Dbox

    Hi there,

I've followed all the instructions I could find...and flashed my old sportster Sagem x1 to the super new Comando 10d...well that was easy and all the great instructions say jsut re start and scan etc etc....

Yep that easy....I'm a trainer by profession so should have know better ( the amount of people on here going I followed the instructions and now its broke....).....

Yep....backed up my old image but of course not the Keys/bin of plugin folder....my guide made no mention....

so ...much reading on this site ....I've been on the net for 15 yrs so know the great benefit of these communities......

dowloaded the mgic files....tuxcom file manager and the keys file from my Nokia Dbox2.....

none of these files will copy across.....i can copy others but noth these !!!! ??????

So after 7 hrs of trying ...yep I've been at this since 3:30 non stop.....I thought xxxxxx it it I'll try to flash back to my orig image....well great news....this great new image allowed me the back the image up but not to write ... !!

So thought xxxxx it again....I'll try the middle option on the Engima options thing....go into engima s4 mode....great see if that makes a diff....yep.....now when I press the enigma options I get a blank screen......

I've tried using the Image flashing assitance but this just hands.....not sure if its due to giving only COM1 as the null modem port and its wrong ? or not ???

As such I now have a totally dead ( effectively ) DBOX that I cannot flash.....

Can anyone point me in the direction of some instrucitons on how to rescue my box ......

I know many of you will be thinking silly so and so you deseve it but fair enough for the others....true knoweldge is not knowing but passing knoweldge onto others.....

    kind regards

If the Box wont boot mate
there is no other option than IFA
There are several versions of Ifa
    About 10 i think
Try them all till you find the one that works
Start off with the Portable version
as this now gets the Quickest results ..................Paul

The box boots and works with FTA just cannot get into the options section any longer to flash the image. The option was simply not there in the 1st place...only to back up your image not write. As such I have an FGTE box that I cannot flash an image to....

I'll try a few IFA s and see if that works...

      many thanks

          Hi there,

Managed to get a IFA that allowed me to choose the IP addres...this worked fine.
After 8hrs I,m back to a fully working DBox2 as at 3pm...at least I now know I've got my orginal fully working image and all other files keys emus etc backed up.
May start experimenting again tomorrow.....kind of want to crack this once and for all.

Many thanks for the help so far...
