    im a noob and need a little help

    hi, all, im really new to all this stuff and im looking to buy a dbox2 from ebay and before i do im looking to get all the programs in advance, which programs should i be looking for? at the moment im under the inpression that i will have to get commando, image flash assistant and possibly cuteFTP. where can i get these from? i looked at the other threads and found commando but i cant download it as i dont have enough privilages, i just started an account with this forum and this is my first post, do i have to leave loads of threads first to get the privilages, unfortunately i havent been able to find these programs elsewhere but only other forums. also i live in suffolk which is in east anglia, which service.xml file should i get? i looked in the idiots guide and followed a provided link but suffolk or east anglia arent on the list. any help that people can give would really be appreciated. and lastly sorry for being such a noob.

      You need;

      * an image or firmware for the box - commando 10D is 1 of them but there's others out there.
      * any FTP program will do (Cute is one, filezilla is free) - for putting stuff onto the box using a router/patch lead OR cross over network lead.
      * IFA (Image Flashing Assistant) for if it goes wrong

      i'm guessing you've found PT-1's DBOX FAQ - a great tool to get you used to it, it tells u loads but also lots that you don't necessarily need - don't be scared by it.

      a good place to start to get tools/files/images is bigmaq's tool bar - google for it.

          You can replace the service.xml and bouqets.xml with your own custom ones if you choose to, or you can rescan the box with the correct NETID in place for your area. The Keys are for decrypting premium channels that you should uh hum be paying for!
