    Faint LCD screen

    Hi there

Just got Nokia off Ebay and the LCD screen is so faint you can only see it from a few inches away.

It all seems to work fine and no lines etc...just impossible to see unless your face is up against it.....

I've tried the LCD section in settings and none of these make any difference.

Anyone any ideas....or is it just a dud LCD screen ?

    cheers

That tute is for getting rid of stripes in the LCD, isn't it? If so- it's a sure-fire way of wrecking the LCD completely, LOL!

You say you've looked at LCD settings, but did you go into the Contrast / Brightness sub-menu in there? This might solve your issue- where the brightness level is set way too low. Try it at 80 to 90, with Contrast at around 15, if it's the standard green LCD.

If it has one of them fancy blue LCD screens fitted, then pump the Contrast level up to 50 or more, and see the difference!

      Cheers- AL

If the above dont work,...this usally happens when a lcd unit as been swapped,...and the previous owner never powered off b4 changing it,... blowing the chip.

        regards.

A little tip for these blue lcd screens: ratchet the contrast setting a lot higher than the default neutrino setting. It makes an amazing difference to the appearance of the lcd screen!!

                      Cheers- AL
