Make sure your flow and controll are set right

Go to control panel then network connections
right click on local area connect and pick properties.
there you will see underneath connect using....your network card
next to this will be a configure tab click on it.
then click on the advanced tab
you need to look for flow control, duplex, media type or connection type
drop the value tab arrow down and set to 10baseT_halfduplex or try automatic or autosense

Thanks plasterer. I have done that but still no luck.

i have found this from another forum

*** Make sure firewall is turned off in windows (plus any additional firewalls that may be present), and at your Router.***

*right click on program icon and select 'run as administrator'
      *select your image
*make sure that com port is set to off
      *make sure dbox is on
*click ok to get scan going.
*dont bother to switch your dbox off, just open up the window thats been minimized by IFA and go to the settings tab.
      *press the stop button
*now change your ip addy to: 192.168.0.1
*check the box that says 'RARP server'
*check each box that area (apart from IP Debug messages)
      *click the start button
*turn on power to dbox and it should start flashing.

hope that helps, its the only way my vista PC has been able to connect, wouldnt even connect to Dbox using Null Modem Cable.

I tried this again no lucky

I connect an ethernet cable from my DBox2 to my router and another ethernet from my router to my PC

Check the Network settings are reachable i.e. IP Address DHCP on
Put the reachable IP Address in my FTP thing
          username : root
password : commando ( If commando image )

          then connect and walla

Alot of people are having trouble doing anything with Vista but FTP works
