After some info please

Hi all
i have a sagem dbox2 with the cable ferret image on.
i have 2 questions:

Question 1
i have lost some channels and when i try and do a scan it scans for about 5 secs and says scan finished(or somthing like that) and there is no difference to my channels.
i have tried a fast and slow scan and the same happens.
not sure wot to do, was going to try a new image but dont have a clue how to do that so hopefully i can sort it without a new image.

Question 2
My remote is being a pain, sometimes it works sometimes it dosent (i have to bang in on my knee to get it to work ) and sometimes it skips 2 channels.
not sure if this is just a faulty remote and needs to be replaced, if so how do i do this i have seen remotes on ebay but dont want to buy 1 if it wont work

any help or advice you could give would be a BIG help

Remove any splitters and try rescan.
and i think you have faulty remote and needs to be replaced,
or you know some1 have Dbox chake it on hes1 to make sure its faulty.

i bought a new remote from flea bay m8.think it was ?6 plus ?3 delivery.works fine.while i was waiting on it coming,i took my old one apart,realised there was too much "play" between board and buttons ,so i stuck a piece of folded paper in the back,re-sealed remote and the fcuker worked brilliantly.....just my luck.
