What Image to use?

Hi Guys,

I'm sure one of you guys can help ?

I'm currently using Commando 10 on my Nokia Dbox2, all I'm interested is the quality of the picture that's all. Any ideas on what's the best image out there?

Also, on my current image, I can't seem to scan for new channels, I don't get the option of multiple providers? Do I need to copy over some kind of folder/file to enable me to select for example 'Bruteforce'?

Any guidance would be very much appreciated

Have you pressed the blue button and done the setmlylocation then after it reboots go to the service scan menu turn fast scan on bouquets leave existing then press red to save then do a scan.

I have tried what you have suggested:

Set my location, reboot the Dbox, turn on fast scan bouquets leave existing settings, save settings, cable provider is set to cable UK (only provider available) and do a scan which finishes within 5 - 10 seconds.

Any other suggestions please, anyone?

Turn fast scan off red to save then try a scan if it it dont find anything try flashing a different image on
back your emu's a keys up to your pc first.

I'll give it a go over the weekend and if it doesn't work I'll re flash it using another image. Can you recommend any good images please?

Then Fergal's suggestion to turn Fast Scan off should work fine for you! The Scan will take around 20 mins, no big deal really.

Again no luck in turning off the fast scan, saving and then scanning for new channels, scan again was around 5 - 10 seconds.

Looks like the way forward would be to flash the box with a new image which I'll have to do later on in the afternoon unless you or Fergal have any more suggestions?

Also does anyone have the latest files for Osterley / Hounslow?

Check that the provider name (usually CableUK) matches exactly in both cables.xml AND scan.conf m8. Summat isn't right here...

Think I'll just re flash the box with the latest Commando image would be the easiest option considering the version 10 I am currently using is the one that just come out around the Christmas period.

Once I've flashed the box with the new image, is it best to run a full scan then copy over the magic files or vice versa?

Updated to Commando 11, scan function for new channels is working perfectly. Good quality image, we'll worth the update.
