Channel Scanning Help

Hi there guys,

I have been getting a lot of trouble trying to channel scan. I saw another thread and set my location correctly, but the scan just says complete after a few seconds without updating. I am on the latest Andromeda image, have tried both fast and normal scan, but no joy.

Any suggestions?

Enter cable prov.(e.g. cable uk) , Sym.rate 6952 or 6887
Enter active frequency (if known) do fast scan
If unsuccesful change fast scan to brute force
If you need more help come back with location & box type.
You could consider flashing with Commando 11 image (d-box)

For some reason my image does not let me set to Manual Scan, nor change cable provider from Kabel Deutschland.

I am in the Glasgow area in Scotland, box is a Sagem.

It is possible a re-image is necessary, though it has been a long time since I have done it, is there a guide on here? I am doing it through a router if that helps.

For some reason my image does not let me set to Manual Scan, nor change cable provider from Kabel Deutschland.

somethings wrong with the cables.xml - either rip it from another newer image OR flash a newer image - make sure you back up your keys/EMU's/services/bouquets

I would flash with Commando 11, it's better suited to UK
You will first have to open box to see if it's 1 chip or 2 chip
Use appropriate Image version for your box, both are in downloads
Check DOWNLOADS-DBOX-GUIDES to tell difference between 1 chip
& 2 chip. Also read how to ftp fix to d-box

Sorry to ask again guys, but still a slight problem. I got the new image updated no bother, scanned for channels, found them all...but it only shows the freeview stuff. I tried swapping with all three available ucodes through the blue menu, but no joy. Any suggestions?

I am using the Commando 2-chip as recommended.

u will need to add "the real magic" files for the rest to work....

No m8. It's against the rules to host such stuff, but Google is your friend . If you were to search for something like "dbox magic files"

Managed to get the files, but not sure I have done it correctly. I couldn't edit them after ftp'ing, but I edited them beforehand...well, I opened with notepad. When I right-clicked, there was no option for chmod, unless i've missed the point completely there. So, edited the top part via notepad, still no channels. Have left it on for about ten minutes now.

When you transfer the files. Don't edit them in notepad or anything else beforehand.
FTP them them to folder then right click and choose attributes\chmod\755

It is the attributes and chmod part that confuses me. When I right-click on them (through windows explorer, didn't get the option in total commander), there is no attribute option.

Try using flashfxp you get the option to chmod/attributes in that.
