    dBox2

Im kinda new to the cable box scene so any help would be trully appreciated.

Thinking of getting a dBox2 but want to find out a little about it first.

Is it easy to setup and is it reliable?
What's it like compared to a Dreambox or Eurovox or Kryptview?
Is it futureproof, if any changes occur will it still work and able to be updated?

Anyone got the lowdown on cable recievers,
I mean right now which is the best box overall and which is the best value-for-money box on the market?

P.S. Any ideas on where the best place to attain them from is?

    Thanks in advance.

lo mate just a quick post before i sleep, i have a dbox2 and dreambox myself i find that the dreambox is more reliable seems it will usually be brand new the tuners in dbox2's can sometimes be shit cos they aint new,
both are fairly simple to setup and get running with a guide im sure can be found around here.
i have no idea where u can pick up a dbox2 right now but i have found a few websites offering dreamboxs not sure if they are clones or what not yet tho, im after a eurovox myself and after doing a bit of searching it seems they might be the best to go for if u are just after getting tv dreambox is good for other things like streaming stuff with PC etc, anything else i can help you on just ask and ill try to help.

If your interested in only watching and recording tv then Eurovox 5100 pvr is good, if you want to do much more (streaming, networking, playing mp3 and videos files, customising your box image) then dreambox/dbox2 offer this.

7000 HD is a good box, but how many HD chls. are on view at present..
With the advent of Nagra3 & IPTV will ex7000 be able to hack encrypted
chls. by the time VM & NTL have HD fully up & running. If cable-tuner box
can't view encrypted chls. it's only taking up space.I only use dreambox for watching TV, & I'm not going to pretend that I use
it for streaming videos MP3's etc., but i can tell you if you hit RED for
dreambox development you are entering a whole new world. If encryptioncaught up with dream it has so many other strings to it's bow, you would hardly notice.
Bear in mind the geeks all have DREAM they wouldn't be seen dead
with DVB-C box, so if an N3 fix is needed in future, it's the geeks who
will fix it, & they will fix it for LINUX

*Are all Dreambox500 clones or can u laso get originals aswell?
*What is the difference between the 500C and 500S (does C=cable and S=satellite?)
*are other versions better? (Im kinda after a decent cheap one!)
*Will they be ok in future, i.e. the next few years?..... because I hear support for Starview and
Eurovox boxes drops when newer versions come out.
*Anyone got suggestions on the best places to buy from?.....DVBMonkey.com...are they
              reliable?

All brand new Dream500 are clones, as far as I know
I'll be corrected if i'm wrong.(include supplier's name with correction)
There will be plenty of business coming their way.
Any Dream500 i have sourced are cloned or re-conditioned
I have found cloned boxes to be very good, but time is the only test.
Cloned boxes are fine if every detail is copied right & they don't use
S**T components. Open Media boxes are cloned 500's ,& have had to
replace CAP. in 1 unit after 3 months. The quality of cap.(21c radionics)
was far superior quality to original.
If you punch in dvb-Donkey on search-bar don't be in a hurry away if you
wish to read replies. As with all traders check revues & ratings on e-bay
As to future of PIRATE boxes you could try PSYCICS(??) LIVE
