    Sports channels freezing

    my has a dbox not sure if its a dbox or dbox2. He says his sports channels keep freezing. Will flashing a new image fix this problem or is it a signal problem. Thanks

    tell him to press red/blue button on a prob channel and read the snr, if it is below 55000 then its a signal or tuner issue....ideally it should be over 60000

    cheers

      signal levels

      Hi,
      If you press red then blue on your dbox remote you will be able to see signal levels, post the readings on here.
      BER
      SNR
      SIG
      SNR is the most important as this needs to be above 60000.
      Best to do this before flashing new image etc as it can save a lot of heartache

        i got his box on the front it says sagem on one side and dbox on the other and it has commando 6. i have a dreambox 500c that works fine so i plugged his into my connection and sky sports news was jumpy then i put on sky sports 1 and after a few mins it froze.
        BER = 0
        SNR = 64000
        SIG = 13621

        any ideas thanks

          Readings look good to me mate
          Try it direct to the wall ,see if that helps
          Or try changing ucodes 001a and 0014 being best bets....Paul

            Sky sports 1 is a big problem with most boxes.

            Buy an attenuator this allows you to vary the signal.

            This WILL sort the problem of freezing.

                Sagem can be prone to freezing so if changing the ucode as Plasterer suggests does not help it may be worth flashing Blade quad as this supports Gbox (a cam known to be good at fixing freezing on Sagems) this image has a key copy function as well (Gbox no longer autoupdates).

                          Attenuator is a connector that varys the gain on the signal.

                          Try ebay they have loads for sale.

                          Expect to pay between 2-8 ? for one.

                            Before you spend any money try what tommo suggests use a image with gb*x support and the evocamd au to gb*x swap feature like Al's enigtrino image.

                              Enigtino is a good choice as all the "magic" files to get this up and running are available in a support pack.
