Commando 11.3 - Really the End

Official Release (ahem!) here on Digital-Kaos:

As you might have noticed from hints in recent threads, the long-awaited C11-SP3 patch is not going to happen.

So much new stuff (and fixes) has gone in since C11-SP2, that trying to release this as an update patch simply became inappropriate!

So here you go - a proper Image release...

As always- no cams, keys, roms are included. Rules are rules!

    User: root
    Password: Commando

The Image includes an Add-Ons rar file- and, of course, a fully illustrated PDF Readme document.

Please read the PDF before wading in gung-ho, eh?

A famous politician once said that "You can't please ALL of the people ALL of the time". The aim of Commando 11.3 is to prove that theory wrong!!

We hope you agree that this will be the Mother of all Images...

ENJOY! Renwich and PaphosAL - 26 August 2009

ps: Undocumented last-minute addition to the Image:

Thanks for this latest update I hope it gets all the FTA programs this time. Appreciate the effort and frustration these new releases can cause.

                chirping with Commando 11.3

                Hi..

Great image to setup...and i was running it for about an hour and the box keeps on chirpsing/freezing..then when you change the channel...the "Error: Channel not available" message appears. Only way is to reboot the box. Runing Ev0c4m.

However, my old Blade Quad image with Gb0x never chirps..the screen freezes then comes back.

                Any ideas??

                  Hi m8,

2 options as I see it, go back to blade quad or mod this image to work with Gbox.

Great Image - but need a little help

Can anyone tell me where the internet radio stations lists are stored in this image - I can't seem to find it.

(BTW do I get a brownie prize for discovering some legacy German text !?)

That's coz there aren't any! If there were, they'd all be German.

You win 10 points for finding a menu we never knew existed, and cannot even find ourselves! None of the German text in that menu is in english.locale - so it must be hard coded inside Neutrino, I guess.

You're fined 10 points for wasting D-K bandwidth by posting a screenshot as a pdf doc at 60kb plus, when a little .png file at 12kb would have sufficed.

                        Overall score- 0 points, LOL!

                        Cheers- AL

Nil pois from the D-K jury

Working from memory (I'm not infront of the dbox)

I download the station list using the 'icecast' option and it does include plenty of English stations btw - In other images the station list used to be stored in either a txt file or xml file and it was therefore possible for me to directly edit this to add my own preferred feeds - is the station list stored in volatile memory only?

The German menu can be found in the Movieplayer section (from memory) it's under MoviePlayer->Browse movies->dbox button->? button

(sorry to D-K for consuming bandwidth, but I packed the png image in a PDF to REDUCE the overall filesize - the original png file was even larger!)

Tread carefully when you cross the threshold from my friendly humorous banter to your acidic sarcasm, m8!

People might start looking at your 3 posts per month average (28 total) versus your 20 downloads and ask why you can't dig the radio file you seem so desperate for out of another Image?

To save you the trouble, I've attached the CVS offering for you- it goes in /var/tuxbox/config but regrettably, it doesn't have Sub-Titles working yet...

The German lingo in the Moviebrowser menu IS coded inside the Neutrino binary itself, not externally in english.locale (as is usually the case with carefully crafted tuxbox add-ins).

The reason it's still in German is probably because no ~~~~er uses it, so nobody has noticed. Why not go for fame an glory and edit neutrino youself, to Anglicise this menu?

Right click on our Screenshot in post #1 above, then on 'Properties'. PNG 300x360px - just under 14kb. So you have some work still to do on graphics manipulation by the look of it.

If you want to play games, you sure picked on the wrong guy, m8...

                            AL

ps: It is also noted in dispatches that you didn't click the Thanks button when you read (and downloaded from) post #1. And since when are you the 'D-K Jury'?

An odd thing has gone on! have had com 11.3 running smoothly for few days now, love the image... but woke up this morning and the box said couldnt find any channels, they seem to have got lost overnight... so thought i'd re-scan, but this is the odd bit.. the scan is set to scan for sats and not cable? i have looked but cant find anyway to change it to cable again? any ideas?

                              thanks
