Commando 11.3 - Really the End

An odd thing has gone on! have had com 11.3 running smoothly for few days now, love the image... but woke up this morning and the box said couldnt find any channels, they seem to have got lost overnight... so thought i'd re-scan, but this is the odd bit.. the scan is set to scan for sats and not cable? i have looked but cant find anyway to change it to cable again? any ideas?

sorry to say, but from what i've read in the past this is usually the first sign that the box is ~~~~ed it seems to revert back to sat settings......
u can see if it's hopefully only a glitch and reflash the img

That doesn't sound too good, Dave. This is usually the first sign of a Tuner Can that's on it's way out. So Neutrino can't detect what type of Tuner is installed during it's boot up h/ware probe, so defaults to the Sat tuner...

Fingers crossed it's a memory overflow issue, with too much long EPG being loaded while it's in Standby Mode first thing each morning. Try a reflash with the back-up you created after setting everything up nicely, (you did do this, didn't you?)- then try again with EPG set to Standard 3 Day Mode and see how it runs with that for a few days.

I noticed that thought it was a mistake so thought nothing of it.
This is what it says in German........

One man's loss is another man's gain, so the saying goes. There will be a few dBox2 bargains floating around on FleaBay now, from our Irish friends across the Emerald Sea.

If the worst happens, and you decide to buy another box, then I strongly recommend Nokia, rather than Sagem!! If your existing box does have a knacked tuner, and it's a Nokia, then it might be possible to fix it! You'll need to source the little 3 legged tranny thingy, and have this professionally soldered in. This is not a job for an amateur!

Alternatively- the old box will still be worth good money if sold on FleaBay, advertised as Faulty- new Tuner needed.

People might start looking at your 3 posts per month average (28 total) versus your 20 downloads and ask why you can't dig the radio file you seem so desperate for out of another Image?

To save you the trouble, I've attached the CVS offering for you- it goes in /var/tuxbox/config but regrettably, it doesn't have Sub-Titles working yet...

The German lingo in the Moviebrowser menu IS coded inside the Neutrino binary itself, not externally in english.locale (as is usually the case with carefully crafted tuxbox add-ins).

The reason it's still in German is probably because no ~~~~er uses it, so nobody has noticed. Why not go for fame an glory and edit neutrino youself, to Anglicise this menu?

Right click on our Screenshot in post #1 above, then on 'Properties'. PNG 300x360px - just under 14kb. So you have some work still to do on graphics manipulation by the look of it.

If you want to play games, you sure picked on the wrong guy, m8...

Sorry but no offense was intended - don't get me wrong I think that the image is truely awesome. Just (as you've discovered) I'm not always so clued in on the image inner workings - thanks for the CSV file m8

Support for g*box

Found this floating around on the web. Thought it might be useful for the few C11.3 users with flakey sagem boxes that aren't happy with evocamd or mgcamd.

Haven't had a chance to test it, but from what I can see- it should work fine IF YOU READ THE README!!! Whoever has compiled this has done a very good job of tailoring it specially for C11.3!

hi all new to forum just got dbox2 given to me no channals so had to flash image read forum alot got general ideal how to do it but still nafed it up so read some more. so ifa it with new image an got it going now 1 would like to flash again this time with commando 11 but need to post before i can access downloads thanks 4 all the help iv read on hear.

I have never tinkered and FTP'd with so much vigour

Even procured a hard disk / interface which now works a treat.
