    using a 3 prong plug on a dbox

    hi all is it ok to use a uk plug on a dbox2 which only has a live and netural cable coming from it?

    dont know the box but providing its for use on 230/240V the answer is yes ,connect the live wire to the fused screw the neutral to the other pin and leave the earth pin empty(just tighten the screw) you should change the fuse from 13amp to one nearer the boxes rating probably 5amp.

      nothing wrong with having a 13 amp fuse in it i wouldnt of thought

        it will work fine with a 13amp fuse but will damage the box more if something goes wrong.

          i always have just cut the plug off and put uk plug on dont bother with adapter...uk plug is fine

            It's absolutely fine as the uk version of the lead does not use an earth either.

                  Use a 3amp fuse for your dbox thats what iv done, it wont have a earthing wire from the 2 pin plug so just wire it up without that and your good to go

                    Yep- deffo a 3A fuse! And Maplin do a neat 2 pin plug to UK 3 pin plug adaptor (MW44X @ ?2-99), which saves you from cutting the 2 pin plug off. On a box only just purchased, chopping the plug would invalidate any warranty on the box.
