been following tut get as far as last file transfer then stops. can get the U-boot file in ok but sendng second image file fails. what would be the best image to try, there seems to be all sorts of them

Commando 11.3 is in my opinion the best image out there thnx to phaphosal n renwich etc...

Agreed.
Im using cm.3 and its great. if your old image still works transfur the cm.3 image via ftp and flash it that way.

u say flash cm3 with cm3 with ftp but that requires a isp address on dbox and computer, problem dbox2 does not show isp and when i put one in manually it does not stay in if u restart box

When you change the ip on you box you have to save it or it will go back to what it was after a reboot.

are u pressing start/restart network now after changing ip addy?

is start network on boot - on?

if so img gone read-only - reflash and try again

Why are you using this method? do you have a real poorly box?

yes saving isp before reboot. and the rest, as suspected gone read only. as for null modem prog, tried ftp fxtp dbox2 ifa but none of them work,

Its been awhile since I done any Dboxes. if you cant connect through ethernet port and null modem is your only only option try renaming img to mtd3. Also try various images renaming them to mtd3, even if you have to use a really old image to get your box working. remember the best image around may not suit your box, gotta find the image that will suit your poorly box

Marlger please explain ?? Have you had an image on previous? If it is not saving after reboot,then don't re-boot,change ips,save,then try FTP straight away

What are you ftping from lappy/desktop?have you had an image running before?have you a live cable feed?have you FTP before .is the box the only problem? in that you can't connect?,if you would please type step by step what you did,well maybe that's a bit to much!! Sorry for questions but had youconnected previously ?

get connected ok but thijng either times out or fails have cable

Getting connected ok means staying connected,I had a box like this still have it actually but had to be real quick connecting,no I mean quick!! Did that and still dodgy it was real bad pic "crap box, tuner knackered basically".maybe you just boughta dodgy box?seen as you have no info about it...,also what about my. questions if you want ?

box is a friend of mines it used to work ok with all channels then only basig channels which it still does,the display in lcd on box isac-head 3.5 u-boot 1.1.2 then it goes to channels all the logos on bottom of tv screen but blagk except for basic channels they show ok
