    Softcams Reset Required Everyday

I have installed Commando 11, All working perfectly, however everyday all channels stop working soon as i "reset Softcams" then all channels come back. Any one got any idea how i fix this?

Your help would be most appreciated.

Try switching to Standard EPG Mode (which gives 3 Days EPG max), and see if this resolves the issue over the next few days. Report back pls.

    Cheers- AL

Al - does swapping to the PVR-EPG channel still sometimes kill the CAMD? i'm just wondering if it's that timer thats doing it.

i had a few probs with dbox losing all channels every morning, but a reflash seems to sorted it.. but now every morning all i get is the fta channels, a quick reboot of the box and everything is sorted though...

Your issue sounds memory related, try AL's advice above (switch to standard epg).

Well, MoS, swapping to PVR_EPG is the only way of pulling in EPG beyond 0600 next day on VM that I'm aware of, m8.

Problem before C11 was that peeps were moaning about Now 'n Next EPG being sporadic. This was because FreddyFr0g only loaded N+N for the current transponder being viewed. Switch channels to outside that transponder, and yes- it takes sectionsd a short time span to load N+N info for that...

C11 onwards- (I think), FF opened it up to load N+N epg for ALL channels not in the long epg filters, but this might have introduced some unwanted side effects on memory useage- or lack of memory...

He's looking at a few options at the mo, but be patient- as he's a very busy lad on all aspects of his daily life, except for the short time each night when he's asleep!

Current thinking is a) Try and do away with Long EPG Descriptions for N+N channels, which might be eating shedloads of memory- and/or b) Play the blacklist card- where the non-filtered crap channels get no epg at all, not even N+N...

            Watch this space! Cheers- AL

If your box is nice and stable on evocamd, get rid of the other softcams- they are excess baggage! You only require one hammer to crack a nut, not 4! Same goes for Roms too- 7 works fine, so why have 10 and 11 on board as well?

Some areas report that evocamd freezes a bit sometimes, and mgcamd is 100% stable. In this case, switch mgcamd on- then delete the others.

If your magic pack happens to include newcamd, there's no point in adding this into your image, as it stopped AUing on 8 April 08 and will probably never be fixed.

If you're an unlucky sagem user whose box doesn't like evocamd OR mgcamd, but gbox is stable- then you'll need either evocamd OR mgcamd (NOT BOTH!!) as your AU 'donkey', plus a script support that translates their keyfile into gbox format. As gbox can longer update itself either, since Black Tuesday last year...

                Cheers- AL
